Non-Toxic Paints

The benefits of protecting indoor air quality are significant. Improved indoor air quality can have positive effects on human health, productivity, and comfort. Preserving good indoor air quality very important to health. Harmful gasses and particles can compromise indoor air quality. Ensuring that paints, stains, carpets, and other building materials and products contain safe, low-emitting materials helps protect the quality of air in homes.

People spend a large portion of their time inside homes and offices. In fact, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates that most people spend 90 to 95 percent of their time indoors. This makes indoor air quality very important to health. Harmful gasses and particles can compromise indoor air quality.

All interior paints and stains contain low or no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). All interior paint used are Wonder Pure by DeVoe, an odor free paint that contains zero VOCs. Solvents found in paint are among many compounds that fall into this VOC category. As paint dries, organic solvents evaporate and combine with nitrogen oxides and sunlight to create ground level ozone or smog. No "VOC" paint reduces the amount of gaseous pollutants in air.

Non-Toxic Adhesives

The builder used Titebond Solvent Free in the construction of this home. This product is an environmentally superior adhesive that contains no ozone-depleting chemicals. Unlike solvent-based adhesives, it is nonflammable, emits no harmful fumes and cleans up with water.
